Terms of use
Last updated: [date this page was last checked]
These terms are the agreement between us and the parent or guardian who books lessons ("you"). Students under 18 take part under your agreement.
Who we are
Tri Tutors is run by [company name], registered in England and Wales, company number [number], of [registered address]. You can reach us at [contact email].
Our lessons
We teach maths live online in small groups: one tutor and up to three students. We will teach with reasonable care and skill, prepare for each lesson, and start and finish on time. We cannot promise exam results; they depend on the student's work too.
The free test lesson
The first test lesson is free, takes 30 minutes and has no obligation. We do not ask for card details. We may limit it to one free test lesson for each child.
Fees and payment
[your fees, when and how you are paid, what happens if payment is late]
Cancelling and missed lessons
[how much notice a parent must give, and what happens to a missed lesson]
If we cancel a lesson, we will offer another time or give you the fee for that lesson back.
You also have legal rights to cancel a service you agreed to online. In England and Wales this is usually 14 days from agreeing. If lessons start inside that time at your request, you pay for the lessons already given. [have this wording checked]
Using the lesson app
Login codes are sent to one person's email. Please do not share them. We ask students to:
- be kind and respectful to the tutor and to classmates;
- use their own name, and keep the camera and microphone for lesson use only;
- not record, photograph or share lessons or other students' work, because other children are in them;
- tell the tutor or a parent if something in a lesson worries them.
- We may remove anyone who breaks these rules, and we always put safety first.
Recordings and work
We never record video. Students' boards are saved as lesson notes. Worksheets and teaching materials belong to us or to the people who made them. A student's own writing is theirs; we keep it as notes as set out in the privacy policy.
When something goes wrong
If video fails, your tutor can move the class to a backup meeting link, and the board keeps working. If we cannot teach a lesson because of a fault on our side, we will give you another time or the fee back.
Our responsibility
Nothing here limits any responsibility the law does not allow us to limit, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
[any liability limit; ask a solicitor]
Changes and law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email you before it starts. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. [confirm you want England and Wales courts]
